BENELEARN 2016: Belgian-Dutch conference on machine learning

Benelearn is the annual machine learning conference of Belgium and The Netherlands. It serves as a forum for researchers to exchange ideas, present recent work, and foster collaboration in the broad field of Machine Learning and its applications. The 25th edition will be co-organised by KU Leuven, UGent and the Flemish Supercomputer Centre at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Campus Kortrijk (KULAK).

Flexible Statistical Modeling workshop

Workshop objectives
•Stimulate research in flexible modeling.
•Bring together researchers in the field to share their latest results.
•Identify interesting new problems and applications.
•Foster dialogue and future research collaborations.
•The paper “On families of distributions with shape parameters” (Jones, M.C., 2015, International Statistical Review, 83, 175-192) provides a core focus for the workshop which is primarily aimed at early career researchers.

The Center for Statistics and the Department of Data Analysis have the pleasure to invite you to the introductory lecture of our colleague Jan De Neve who started this academic year as a UGent Tenure Track professor in the discipline of Data-analysis for the behavioural sciences.

The lecture will be accessible to a wide audience and is followed by a reception.
