Stijn Vansteelandt is Professor of Biostatistics. His primary research focus is on (semiparametric) statistical methods for inferring causal structure from observational data, including applications to the analysis of genetic association studies, the detection of synergistic genetic effects (epistatis) and the identification of genetic pathways.
